In this episode...
Jim London passes by Railway Terrace, his old home, on a delivery job and sees the developer doing their dirty work, raising it to the ground. Undaunted, though a little saddened, Jim forces his cockney spirit to surface and takes on the challenges of the day, not the least being his factory Despatch Office Manager, Wobbler Wainright, who rates Jim as an Expendable Yobbo. He gives Jim a difficult assignment, hoping for his subsequent failure and downfall. He underrates our hero who, though getting Wainrights marching orders, end up being kicked upstair rather than down, and into a more solubrious area of work to boot.
In this episode...
In his new position as chauffer to Millionaire electronics boss Robert Palmer, Jim is soon aware that all is not as plain driving as he thought, for Wobbler Wairights oppo the redoubtable Henry Compton is in charge, and a right little Sergeant Major he turns out to be. He not only wants Jim to stand in line with the rest of the staff, but in uniform as well! Meanwhile, Jim finds someone to take his mind off Henry, in the shapely form of Robert Palmers daughter, Sarah.
In this episode...
Bedecked in his new livery, although skating on thin ice with Henry, Jim London cuts a fine figure with Sarah, that is until Capt. Hawkeseworth crosses his path. Jim ends up among the market traders, trading punches, hardly the correct behaviour of RObert Palmers Chauffeur, although the boss does not seem enamoured with the redoubtable Captain either. However, he did tell Jim to mind his Ps and Qs and remember his position, our James is quick to interpret that his own way in the driving seat and that means in control, in charge, on top, all straightforward, no problem... Until a Mr. Tony shows up!
In this episode...
Henry Compton may be a difficult ol cuss but when he gets down in the mouth it not only worried Robert Palmer but it gets Jim rushing to his aid as well. In Jims rule book, he is entitled to put Henry under pressure, but outsiders, not in the household ranks, never! There is dirty work afoot and a rescue job is required, enther the London Palmer Duo, mackintoshed and all!
In this episode...
Down in the country something stirs, and it is not only the mixed bunch that inhabit it, there is the Sloanes for example, the horsey lot, and there is comings and goings from all sides. Is Henry right and our Jims on the downward? Or is Palmer after all a good judge of character? There is more to come!
In this episode...
While the boss is away, the staff will play, and apparently ol Henry is up to some naughty games as well! What is good for the goose is good for the gander, but not if it turns out to be a less than cautious duck, in the hands of a lberated Sarah! And too liberated if it means ending up in Jims erstwhile South London boozer, banging in the dinky doos and drink doos as well. What would her father say? Or Master Tony for that matter? Or even Henry? But there again, Henry has rather occupied himself covering his own iffy tracks!
